Overview
A portrait film shot with the FUJINON MKX18-55mm T2.9. Smooth 60fps footage is reworked into brief, frame-by-frame sequences to evoke the texture of early moving images.

Concept
The film explores observing and documenting sequences of movement, fluctuation, and moments. Footage recorded at 60fps with a modern cinema lens is reconstructed to recall repeated still photographs and the tangible advance of individual frames.

Approach
Deliberately disrupting smooth footage, I used editing to evoke the texture of short sequences and advancing frames. Background effects, sound design, and mixing were carefully adjusted.

Portrait
As an alternative to conventional portraiture, an androgynous-looking model was filmed alongside nature’s fluctuations. Slight disruptions to changes in expression, movement, and trees reveal beauty within a sense of unease.
